Sketches I

Blurb: Six short songs. I made this album because I got a stylophone and I was obsessed with it (because they are awesome). Originally I had an idea to make an album that was entirely composed using only 3 monophonic synthesizer tracks using only basic waves. I made one or two songs like that and they weren't very good, but the general idea of a limited amount of voices evoloved into this project. I ended up writing a guitar part that I thought was really cool and used a stylophone to add a melody over it. I found that to be a really fun way to write songs and a really good limitation so I ended up making a few tracks that use only a single guitar and stylophone for instrumentation. Really proud of Open and Castle III!

Odds and Ends

Blurb: Four instrumental songs I recorded during my sophmore year of college. It was recorded with an electroacoustic guitar, an orange practice amp, makeshift drums and the $20 dollar behringer mic. I made these songs and retrospectively thought they were nice together, so I grouped them into this album.

My Old Stuff Box

Blurb: This one is frankly bizarre. I was first getting into guitar pedals, and I had a ton of wacky pedals that I bought on the cheap off the internet, like a really strange flanger and a broken wah pedal, etc.. And I had the boss looper and I would create strange loops using pedals and stuff and this weird 909 drum machine app I had on my phone, and then I would record all this shit through my one miillion effect fender practice amp on the on-board mic of a TASCAM field recorder. I didn't have any plans for it at all, I just thought this shit was cool. But eventually way after I stopped making songs like this (this was freshman year of college) I went through all the recordings on the recorder and compiled the best ones into this mess.
